For more than 140 years, the House of Lemarié has been recognised as a label of exceptional craftsmanship. The house offers a unique range of rare and precious savoir-faire dedicated to the luxury industry: Feathers, Flowers, Lognon pleating, Couture sewing and Textile ennobling.
Its origins lie in a “feather factory for finery” founded in 1880 by milliner Palmyre Coyette. Feathers from rare creatures such as birds of paradise, egrets and ibises, as well as ostriches prized for their lightness, were cut, curled and shaped before being used to embellish hats and boas.
Her grandson, André Lemarié, took over management of the company in 1946 and developed the making of fabric flowers by integrating first the Guillet and then the Légeron ateliers workshops. Since the 1960s, Lemarié has been making the iconic CHANEL camellias, which have been endlessly reinterpreted over the years. In 2013, the House further enriched its proposition by integrating the famous Lognon pleater and their exceptional heritage of more than 3,000 cardboard pleating moulds, of which it is now the custodian. Finally, in 2021, the Dynale atelier, an expert in textile ennobling since the 1970s, was added to Lemarié’s extraordinary range of savoir-faire. Over the years, the company has developed its expertise to become the essential partner of the most prestigious houses : Chanel, Balenciaga, Dior, Valentino, Nina Ricci, Yves Saint-Laurent or Hermès… Now a resident of 19M, the company preserves a living heritage of gestures, tools and archives in the service of creation, quality and excellence.
